  • DigiConstruct: Building New India

Accelerating Digital Transformation in Construction Lifecycle
    1. 2019-2020 has been a breakthrough year for the Indian construction industry in terms of investments, and digitalization. With Prime Minister Modi declaring 2019-2020 to be the year of Construction Technology and the recent INR 103 crore investment push for infrastructure development, there has been a much-awaited push towards the adoption of cutting-edge digital technologies to accelerate the transformation of the construction lifecycle to build a New India.

Technology has redefined how we connect, how we choose a product or service, and even how we work, and the Indian construction industry is not far behind. From project owners to architects to engineers and contractors – there exists a consensus that digital technologies are improving the process of delivering the built environment. Advancements in digital construction tools and techniques – cloud-based collaboration tools, Building Information Modelling (BIM), robots, artificial intelligence, drones, 3D-4D printing – are an incredible array of technology breakthroughs poised to help and improve the ways transport, industrial and buildings are conceived and built-in India. Also, digital construction gives rise to disruptive business models improving technology penetration and productivity in the planning and execution phases.

With the theme, DigiConstruct: Building New India, the AEC Forum will touch upon the use and application of new-age digital tools in the construction lifecycle across the transport, industrial and buildings infrastructure in India. The forum will address the digital transformation happening across the AEC ecosystem in India and will initiate discussions on technology readiness, resilience and sustainable infrastructure and implementation and execution of digital technologies in accelerating Indian infrastructure development for Building New India.
